Paul Newman, actor and famous acknowledged, has died. Where does the word actor?
Originally from Latin, the word actor meant "one who is" in the 13th century (in English, "to act" always means acting).
Actor meant first of all authors, followed by derivation of the players (always the idea that we act in deciding) and finally the stage actors.
